Our Mission: Cultivating Curiosity, Creating Independent Learners.

Welcome to Homeschool Autodidact Kids! My name is Eial Kenigsvain, and my journey here began with a simple question: How can we, as parents, support our children to become empowered, independent thinkers? This question has guided my path as a father, educator, and lifelong learner. I realized that when children are given the right guidance and resources, they can truly become self-learners, developing skills that extend far beyond traditional education. Through our journey with homeschooling, we’ve discovered a new approach to learning—one that has not only enriched our family life but freed up time for us to pursue our passions and projects, all while staying deeply connected to our children’s education.

Our Mission

At Homeschool Autodidact Kids, our mission is to support families who want to foster self-directed learning in their children. We believe that every child has an innate curiosity and desire to learn, and that with the right approach, parents can tap into that drive and create a fulfilling, autonomous educational experience. We’re here to provide families with tools, coaching, and resources to make this process both rewarding and sustainable.

What We Offer

Our services are designed to help both parents and children along the homeschooling journey:

Each component is crafted to make homeschooling a smoother, more fulfilling experience for both parents and children.

Our Approach

Our philosophy blends conversational, experiential learning with practical guidance on how to nurture self-learning. From the beginning, my teaching experiences with my kids have been conversational and hands-on, allowing them to discover answers and develop skills on their own. As an aspiring homesteader and solopreneur, I’ve seen firsthand how essential it is to cultivate resilience, curiosity, and problem-solving in children. These qualities are at the heart of our approach, which I’ve refined through years of homeschooling and coaching.

Why Autodidacticism Matters

In today’s world, the ability to learn independently is invaluable. Self-directed learners don’t just excel academically; they develop confidence, adaptability, and a genuine love for learning. Our approach allows children to embrace challenges, think critically, and see learning as an exciting, lifelong journey. This philosophy isn’t just about academics—it’s about nurturing well-rounded, empowered individuals who can navigate life’s complexities with creativity and resilience.

Why I’m Passionate About Homeschooling and Self-Directed Learning

I’ve been a self-directed learner for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I had a strong non-conformist streak. By the age of 11, I began challenging my teachers—sometimes to the point of being labeled disruptive. Instead of letting this define me, I chose to take my real learning outside the classroom or by doing my own thing during school hours. This autonomy in education laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for self-directed learning.

At 15, I became a Scouts guide for a mixed group of boys and girls aged 9–11. For two years, I honed my guiding and leadership skills, gaining early experience in working with children—a role that taught me the value of mentorship and the importance of fostering independence in others.

Despite rarely attending classes, I graduated high school with very good grades. My natural curiosity and self-motivation propelled me to excel academically and paved the way for university, where I studied Philosophy and Computer Science. These fields were deeply satisfying: Philosophy helped me become an independent thinker, while Computer Science turned me into a creator.

A Shift to a Simpler Life

In 2016, my family and I left Israel in search of a more meaningful lifestyle. After a chapter in Canada, we moved to the breathtaking foothills of Mount Chirripó in Costa Rica. This wasn’t just a change of scenery—it was a transformation in how we approached life, work, and education.

Experience in Education and Leadership

Throughout high school and university, I explored various jobs and entrepreneurial ventures, always seeking opportunities to learn and grow. Upon graduation, I began my career as a software engineer, quickly excelling due to my ability to see the big picture and connect deeply with colleagues. Over time, I transitioned into leadership roles, managing teams while continuing as an individual contributor. I worked closely with founders and startups, playing instrumental roles in successful acquisitions by large corporations.

In my last position, I served as Director of Software Engineering for Thomson Reuters, where I led the development of text analysis tools using machine learning and artificial intelligence. My autodidactic nature was the driving force behind my success—I continually upskilled in emerging technologies, psychology, and management best practices, ensuring I stayed ahead in an ever-evolving industry.

Parallel to my career, I ran a math learning center for over four years, guiding hundreds of students to think independently. At home, I applied these principles to raise two sons through homeschooling, blending structure and freedom to foster curiosity, resilience, and critical thinking.
